    Maps sometimes struggles to reference the property, however it is on the shores of Loch Fyne, 2km south of Inveraray.

  • Ardmore House sits directly on Loch Fyne, 2km south of Inveraray’s centre.

  • Ardmore House is owner-operated by Duncan and Colette McEwan, originally from Edinburgh with strong family ties to Argyll.

  • Three rooms, each with a king-size bed and private bathroom:

    • The Loch Room (£245/night)

    • The Glen Room (£195/night)

    • The Byre Room (£175/night).

    • The Loch Room looks across Loch Fyne to the hills of Cowal

    • The Glen Room over Mid-Argyll's Highland landscape

    • The Byre Room over the garden.

  • Every room has:

    • a king-size bed, private bathroom

    • strong WiFi

    • tea and coffee

    • central heating

    • toiletries

    • an in-room safe.

  • Rates start from £175 per night.

  • There is no restaurant on-site, but there are many restuarants in the local area.

    Ardmore House does offer a cooked-to-order breakfast each morning.

  • Yes. Breakfast is served between 07:30 and 09:30: traditional Scottish cooked-to-order or a continental spread.

  • We allow well-behaved dogs at no surcharge, however please ensure they are under control at all times.

    Please let us know in advance if you plan to bring dogs.

  • Free designated on-site parking. Each room has its own parking spot. Please let us know what vehicle you'll be driving in advance, as numerous campervans can crowd the driveway.

  • Cancellations must be made 14 days prior to arrival. Any cancellation within this period is non-refundable and charged in full.

  • Check-in is from 13:00 and check-out is by 10:30.

  • A restored 17th-century cottage on the shores of Loch Fyne, opened in late 2025 after a renovation that preserved its original character.

  • The nearest major airport is Glasgow (GLA), about 56 miles (90km) southeast, roughly a 1 hour 10 minute drive via the M8, A82 and A83.

    Scottish Citylink also runs direct buses from Glasgow Airport to Front Street in Inveraray (about 1.5 hours), with Ardmore House 2km further south.

    If you detail in advance, we can collect you from Inveraray town centre.

  • Plenty within easy reach: Inveraray Castle and Inveraray Jail (2km away), Crarae Garden on the shores of Loch Fyne, and walks along the loch and through the surrounding Mid-Argyll hills.
